B&M Ecstatic to Open New Store in Great Malvern

04 May 2024

B&M were ecstatic to announce the grand opening of a brand new store in Great Malvern on Saturday the 4th of May.

The new store has brought 39 new jobs to the local area. The people of Malvern were delighted when the new store opened its doors at 8am, as shoppers were free to find all their faviourite big brands at even better prices.

After taking possesion of a preivous Wilko location the B&M team have completed extensive internal and external refurbishment. The new B&M Malvern site now spans over 13,000sqft and is packed with amazing value and high quality products.

Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a range of food, drink and pet food. There will also be a fantastic selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts and plenty more to explore.

The colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community. They chose two local charities to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store. They chose from the teams Malvern Hills Foodbank and Malvern Special Families charity.

Malvern Hills Foodbank was founded in 2012 by local churches and community groups, who are working together towards stopping hunger in the local area. They do this by offering three-day emergency food supplies to people in crisis. It is run completely by volunteers, and in the past 10 years have provided 27,000 three-day emergency food supplies to those in need. In total there has been 330,000kg donated by the people of Malvern. Their aim is to tackle food poverty and hunger so that eventually, nobody ever has to go hungry.

Malvern Special Families are a specialist provider of safe, stimulating, and fun social opportunities for children and young people with disabilities aged 5-18 years old. They are current supporting 175 families and continue to keep their MSF families at the heart of their service, striving for a better future for children with disabilities. They make a huge positive different to the lives of the children who use their service and to their families. They do this through delivering excellent clubs and playschemes, enabling the children to socialise, develop confidence and new skills through play-based activities and by raising awareness about special needs in the community.

In addition to opening the store, the team will also receive £250 worth of B&M vouchers, which will go towards helping the charity to continue doing the great work they do.

The store manager from B&M said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”

The store manager also commented: “Malvern Hills Foodbank and Malvern Special Families really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
