The Quick and Easy Way to Gift Wrap a Bottle

12 December 2016

It’s the same every year. You have a mountain of presents to wrap and you spend too long scratching your head on the best way to wrap a bottle of wine. In the end, you rush to the shop, wade through the Christmas crowds to get the last of the wine gift bags on sale.

Sounds familiar? What if we told you there was a way of wrapping up bottles that was not only quick and easy – but also looked great too? No scrunching, no rips – and definitely no wine bags!

It’s so simple. Grab your wrapping paper, some sticky tape and ribbon and let’s go!

  1. Cut your gift-wrap. You don’t need a lot. Use the bottle as a measurement, and leave an inch of extra paper at the bottom, and around two inches at the top.

  1. Roll the bottle up in the paper – again leaving an inch of room at the bottom, and two inches at the top. Tape up the side.

  1. With the bottle on its side, cut little one inch vertical scores at the bottom of the wrap.

  1. These should now resemble flaps that you can just push down to cover the base of the bottle. Use a square of tape to cover the ends.

  1. Stand the bottle up, and repeat the process – just cut from the top of the paper to around the area where the top of the cap or cork of the bottle is.

  1. Again, fold these flaps down so they all meet on the cap or cork. Use a square of tape to cover the ends.

  1. Add a ribbon or decoration of your choice, and there you are, a beautifully gift-wrapped bottle that took minutes, was stress-free and looks great!
