The Ultimate Christmas Gift Wrapping List

06 December 2016

December is well and truly upon us, which means the crazy countdown to Christmas has begun. Mums, dads, friends and workmates are searching high and low for the perfect gifts for the special people in their lives, and when you’ve finally found the present you know they’ll love, you have to go through the whole rigmarole of wrapping the thing.

Well, that’s where we’ve got your back. Here in the B&M office, we’ve put together a list of our wrapping essentials, as well as some handy Christmas present wrapping tips that you’ll use year after year. So, without further ado, here is the B&M ultimate Christmas gift wrapping list:

Wrapping Paper

Wrapping paper

What do you need to wrap Christmas presents? A whole lot of wrapping paper, that’s what! But don’t be fooled into thinking that good quality wrapping paper must come with a hefty price tag. We stock a wide range of holographic, cute and traditional wrapping paper to please everyone. So whether you’re wrapping an ornament for your Nan, a toy set for your baby cousin, or a pack of shot glasses for Steve at work, they’re bound to love the wrapping almost as much as the gift itself!

If you’re looking to wrap a bunch of presents for the kids, they’ll love our Marvel Avengers and Mickey Mouse wrapping paper. However, if you want to give your presents a more traditional, rustic feel, our brown paper roll is perfect.

B&M Top Tip: when wrapping presents with brown paper roll, why not use some brightly coloured ribbon too? This way you’ll add a splash of colour, and a unique charm, to the gifts.

Sellotape & Scissors

Scissors

Unless you’re some sort of origami expert, chances are you won’t get very far wrapping your Christmas presents without sellotape and scissors. Here at B&M, we think the sellotape on-hand dispenser is just genius. Simply wear the device around your fingers and voila! You have the use of both hands to wrap your Christmas presents - without the drama of finding the sellotape end!

B&M Top Tip: Some people find using glue sticks easier than sellotape, so if you find yourself dreading wrapping due to a dislike of sellotape, consider using glue instead.

Bubble Wrap

Bubble wrap

Essential for wrapping even the most remotely breakable items, bubble wrap gives gifts the protection that wrapping paper on its own can’t. We recommend buying a larger pack of bubble wrap than you think you’ll need, as we always find that we use more of it than we first expect.

Gift Tags

Gift Tags

Unless you want to watch your family guess whose gift is whose, or even worse, open the wrong presents, it’s a good idea to stick gift tags on as you go along. There are two main type of gift tags - adhesive and dangling - and which ones you choose is up to you.

B&M Top Tip: If you have young children (or a kitten!) in the house, stick with adhesive gift tags. This will avoid any getting pulled off in the run up to Christmas.

Gift Bags & Boxes

Some gifts don’t lend themselves very well to wrapping, and that’s where gift bags and boxes come into their own. Gift bags are perfect for unusually shaped items, or when you’re in a hurry and don’t have time to wrap something properly. Gift boxes are perfect for creating a really instagram-worthy Christmas morning under the tree!

B&M Top Tip: If you’re struggling to find a gift for someone, why not create a Christmas goodie bag? Simply get a gift bag and fill it with treats like chocolate, mini bottles of wine, mini beauty products and anything else you can think of. Use coloured tissue inside to add to the effect.

We’d love to see your presents once you’ve finished wrapping them - we might even be inspired! Facebook, tweet or Instagram your photos to us and join the B&M community.
