11 September 2019

Customers in Sheldon were delighted this morning following the long-awaited opening of their brand new store on Coventry Road.

As part of the opening day process, colleagues nominated local charity, St Mary's Hospice, to be given some VIP treatment. They helped unveil the new store with the Lord Mayor, Cllr Mohammed Azim.

The hospice provide end of life care and personalised support at home, in the community or at the hospice itself. Their expert team of nurses, doctors and counsellors are with patients and their families every step of the way and help them focus on making the most of their life.

In addition to helping to open the new store, the hospice were given £250 worth of vouchers to spend.

The store manager, Tim Smedley, said: “The team at St Mary's Hospice really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local young people in the community, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.

“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”

He also commented: Our new colleagues have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day, and we can’t wait to show customers their brand new B&M.”
