Bacup Welcomes Its Very Own B&M Store

10 November 2016

B&M proudly opened its latest store in Lancashire, creating 28 jobs for local people.

The variety retailer is one of the fastest growing in the UK and has increased its estate in the north of England with a new store in Bacup.

Conveniently located on Irwell Street, the B&M Bargains store will stock a great range of products from toys and grocery to homeware, DIY, and much more.

Opening at the site of the former Co-op, B&M was delighted to announce that 15 staff members from the now closed store have been given roles in the new B&M Bargains store.

And to help celebrate the occasion, representatives from Rossendale Hospice were invited by store staff to be part of their special day.

The hospice provides care and support for patients -and their families- suffering from life-limiting conditions, such as Motor Neurone Disease and Multiple Sclerosis.

As a thank you for taking part in the opening ceremony, the charity received £250 worth of B&M vouchers.

The store was officially opened by the Mayor of Rossendale Borough Council, Councillor Granville Morris who cut the ribbon to declare the new B&M store ‘open’.

A spokesperson for B&M said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.

“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door!”
