B&M Boosts Bromborough as New Store Opens

17 July 2015

B&M increased its impressive growth in Merseyside after opening yet another store in the region.

Bromborough has finally opened its new Home Store & Garden Centre today, creating 70 jobs in the process.

Customers to the former Homebase on Tebay Road will be able to find B&M’s wide variety of branded and own label products, as well as an extensive non-food section including electrical, home and gardening ranges.

The Wirral based store is the first of two store openings in the Merseyside area this month; the second of which opens on Thursday 30th July at the former MFI on Edge Lane.

B&M colleagues invited Claire House to cut the ribbon at the store, as part of B&M’s Local Hero award.

Chosen by the colleagues, a B&M Local Hero is an individual or organisation who has made an important contribution to their local community.

Alongside participating in the opening ceremony, Claire House also received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for their support.

Claire House offers care, support and choice to families whose children won’t live to be adults – where and whenever the child and family needs it.

They also offer a Hospice to Home Team, which cares for children at home so that mums and dads can be parents rather than carers for a couple of days.

Amanda Mitchell, Area Manager for Claire House, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be part of the new store opening.

“Support from B&M means we can raise much needed funds to continue our services.”

In addition to the ribbon cutting, representatives from the charity will have a display stand and offer a range of merchandise across Friday and Saturday in a bid to raise much needed funds.

The new store was also visited by Deputy Mayor, Councillor Pat Hackett and Deputy Mayoress, Mrs Elaine Hackett who helped make the day a memorable one.

Peter Hughes, store manager for B&M Bromborough, said: “B&M is committed to recruiting from the local area and we are delighted we’ve found a great team from in and around Bromborough.

“We’ve been excited to get the doors open and honoured to have representatives from Claire House alongside the Deputy Mayor present to cut the ribbon to officially mark the opening of our new store.”
