B&M Boosts Local Economy with Brand New Store in Banbury

16 March 2024

It was an exciting morning for B&M and the local community of Banbury as the company opened its brand-new store and welcomed in its first customers today at 8am on Saturday 16th March.

After taking possession of a previous Homebase store and undergoing extensive refurbishment, the brand-new Banbury B&M store now operates on a space of 40,886sqft. and has sufficiently boosted the local economy by providing over 85 jobs for local people.

The store manager from B&M said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”

Customers can enjoy shopping across a wide variety of branded products for an unbeatable price including food, drink, pet food and all essential groceries. There is also a fantastic selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts and plenty more to explore.

Aside from this exciting indoor space, B&M were also delighted to reveal its garden centre, which takes up an additional space of 8,697sqft. Here, green-fingered guests can browse an impressive range of high-quality plants, flowers and gardening essentials at a low price.

Store colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity who deserve the honour of unveiling the new store due to the amazing work they do for the community. They chose the team from Banbury Foodbank, who cut the ribbon and officially opened the new B&M store to the public.

Banbury Foodbank provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK as they believe nobody should have to face going hungry. A simple box of food makes a big difference, with foodbanks helping to prevent crime, housing loss, family breakdown and mental health problems.

B&M’s store manager commented: ‘Banbury Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thankyou for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them continue the great work that they do.
