21 February 2024

B&M is thrilled to announce the opening of a brand new store in the Guildbourne Centre, Worthing. The launch of the new store has brought a welcome boost to the local economy and created 75 jobs in the local area.

After taking possession of a previous Wilko store, B&M have completed extensive internal and external refurbishment. Officially opening it's doors at 8am on Wednesday 21st of February 2024 the new store provides over 20,000sqft of big brands at even better prices.

Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a range of food, drink, and pet food. There will also be a fantastic selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts, and plenty more to explore.

The colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community. They chose the team from Turning Tides to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.

Turning Tides is a registered charity that is one of the biggest providers of services for single homeless people in West Sussex. They continue to grow and develop their services to meet the needs of the local area. They provide a warm, safe space to listen to anyone who needs their help. They provide real pathways out of homelessness, supporting people at every stage of their journey. The breadth of the services empowers people experiencing homelessness to become confident and find the strength and belief in themselves to create a brighter future. They do this by; reach out to rough sleepers and run drop in community hubs, residential projects that help people off the street and support them in rebuilding their lives and ‘move-on’ housing which provides that much needed step towards independent living.

In addition to the charity Love Island’s one and only Amy Hart, a huge B&M fan, was delighted to hear the news that B&M will be launching in her hometown. Amy will be helping support the charity to open the store.

Amy Hart added:

“I’m absolutely delighted to be invited to open the brand new B&M store in my wonderful hometown. Worthing has been wanting a B&M for years, and I know the locals will be over the moon about the store opening. I absolutely love B&M and I’m thrilled to join Turning Tides charity to support with opening the new store. I cannot wait to go and explore the new store already”.

The store manager from B&M said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”

The store manager also commented: “Turning Tides really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
