B&M Opens Brand New Store in Teesside Shopping Park, Thornaby

Teesside Shopping Park and local customers welcomed B&M into their community this morning with the grand opening of a new store.

In a welcome boost to the local economy, the new store will create 60 jobs for local people.

The discount retailer will occupy a former Toys R Us unit, with a total of 34,686sqft. which has undergone a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment programme before officially opening its doors.

Thornaby’s new B&M store will be stocked full of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts and plenty more. Customers can also expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a fantastic selection of food, drink and pet food.

Store colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity who they think truly deserves the spotlight for the great work they do for the local community. They chose the team from The Teesside Family Foundation to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.

The Teesside Family Foundation are a charity who are committed to supporting local people and local causes throughout the Teesside area. They aim to improve the quality of life to all those in need in the community of Teesside, whether this be due to their age, disability, ill health or financial hardship. They organise numerous charity events throughout the year to raise funds towards this goal and offer short breaks at Primrose Valley, for families who would not get a break otherwise. They assist these groups for the good of their health and wellbeing, providing sporting activities, food, clothing and more.

The store manager from B&M said: “The Teesside Family Foundation really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.

“We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”
