Blackburn Welcomes New B&M Store into Community Mall

B&M store colleagues were excited to welcome their first customers this morning at 8am on Saturday 23rd March, after Blackburn Foodbank took the spotlight to unveil B&M's brand-new discount store located in The Mall, King William Street, Blackburn. The launch of this new store has created 40 jobs for local people, boosting the local economy and providing the community with the best brands at low prices.

The store manager of B&M commented: "We're feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers will be delighted with their new store."

After moving into a section previously inhabited by Wilko, the store has undergone an extensive refurbishment to provide a space of 15,877sqft, accommodating all of B&M's fantastic products.

Customers can now explore the wide range of products the store has to offer, from branded groceries at the best possible price including food, drink, pet food and essentials. There is also an exciting selection of quality health & beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts, and plenty more.

For the unveiling of the store, colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think deserves the honour for all the hard work they do. They chose the team from Blackburn Foodbank to take the spotlight and officially open the new store to the public.

Blackburn Foodbank aims for a future without the need for foodbanks. They provide three days' nutritionally balanced emergency food and support local people who are referred to them in crisis. They want to bring the experiences of the community together to challenge the structural issues that lock people in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for foodbanks in the UK. They strive to ensure that every experience with the foodbank is an easy and positive one.

The store manager from B&M also said: "Blackburn Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thankyou for all they hard work they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do."
