Brecon's New B&M Store Officially Opens

13 November 2019

A local foodbank has helped to unveil the brand new B&M store in Brecon this morning.

More than 70 people from the local area have been employed at the store, which can be found on Brecon Enterprise Park.

It contains a wide range of branded products, including toys, food & drink, homeware, pet products, health & beauty and seasonal.

As part of the opening day process, colleagues nominated Brecon Foodbank, to be given some VIP treatment. They helped unveil the new store alongside the Lord Mayor, Cllr Ann Mathias.

The foodbank provide nutritionally balanced emergency good and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. They are supported by The Trussell Trust and are working to combat poverty and hunger in Brecon.

In addition to helping to open the new store, they were given £250 worth of vouchers to spend.

The store manager, Kirsty Henton, said: “The team at Brecon Foodbank really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local people in the community, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.

“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”

She also commented: Our new colleagues have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day, and we can't wait to show customers their brand new B&M.”
