New B&M Creates Another 40 Jobs in Glasgow

15 November 2014

Variety retailer B&M has created another 40 jobs in Glasgow after securing opening a new store on the Great Western Retail Park in the city. The finishing touches were completed to the B&M Bargains store which opened on Saturday 15th November at 9am.

Customers can expect a wide variety of branded and own label products from its convenient location on Allerdyce Road including groceries and toiletries as well as an extensive non-food section including toys, soft furnishings, home and electrical ranges.

The ribbon cutting was undertaken by representatives from Yorkhill Children’s Charity. The charity sits firmly at the heart of Yorkhill Hospital working tirelessly to make “difficult times easier for the children and their families”. The charity was nominated by the store colleagues themselves and received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for opening the store.

June McMullen, Store Manager at B&M Great Western said: “B&M is committed to recruiting from the local area. I am delighted that we’ve found a great team from in and around Glasgow for our third store in the city.” We’re really proud to be creating another 40 jobs this year and continuing to play our part in the local community.

June adds: “We were excited to open the doors on Saturday 15th November and have a team of colleagues who are willing to provide great value products and world class service to our customers”.

The new store follows hot on the heels of the recent B&M opening at the Forge Retail Park and brings the total number of jobs created by B&M across both stores to one hundred this year.
