B&M donation helps local bereaved families

06 December 2017 - Northern Ireland Charity News

B&M have donated £20,000 to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (KBRT) so that they will be able to ease the financial difficulties bereaved families may face when repatriating the bodies of loved ones, who have died abroad in sudden or tragic circumstances, back to Ireland.

KBRT have now repatriated over 230 loved ones to their families in Ireland from countries worldwide. The trust was set up following the death of Kevin Bell, who tragically died at the age of 26 in New York in June 2013.

Kevin’s father, Colin Bell, said: “I am overwhelmed with the generosity of B&M, the money will be used to help other families who suffered the same tragedy that we did. This very generous donation from B&M will ensure that we are able to continue our work helping bereaved families.”

B&M Area Manager, Tim Downey, said: “It can be extremely costly trying to get deceased bodies back to their families and it can be extra stress for loved ones at such a sad time, so it is great to know that can help towards the financial pressures local families may face.”
