Kellie's Charity Skydive for Men's Mental Health Charity

08 September 2021 - All UK and Northern Ireland Charity News,North West Charity News

On Sunday 29th August B&M’s Kellie Walters skydived from around 15,000 feet – all to raise much needed funds for men’s mental health charity, Sean’s Place.

Kellie Walters has told us all about the wonderful charity 'Sean's Place', which is very close to her heart. Sean's Place is a men’s mental health charity based in Liverpool, whose mission is to provide practical proactive mental health support to men in Sefton who are experiencing poor mental health and isolation.

Just over three out of four suicides (76%) are men, and with waiting lists for mental health services growing, 75% of people diagnosed with a mental health problem receive no treatment at all. Sean’s Place wants to ensure that men know they have a safe place.

Kellie aimed to raise £500, but that target has been smashed thanks to the support of her family, friends and B&M family. A grand total of £1,410 has been raised so far! Each £80 raised helps Sean’s Place support one new male who is struggling with their mental health. After the Skydive, Kellie told us:

“I done it! And I would have done it again if there was space for me to book on that day!”

“The absolute most unreal experience of my life, the feeling when you drop from the plane is unexplainable - amazing! I was last out of the plane too so we were in no rush down and had some lovely views of the lake district whilst I was floating around once we got below the clouds.”
