10 Things That You Never Knew You Could Make With Coffee

07 September 2016

If you’re something of a coffee lover, there’s no way you can get by without your morning dose of delicious java. Still, what if that’s simply not enough? Wouldn’t it be great if just about everything you ate tasted of deliciously rich coffee? Here are ten recipes you simply have to try for yourself!

1. Coffee chocolate chip ice cream

Nescafe Original

This is relatively easy even for complete beginners. All you need to do is mix a teaspoon of Nescafe Original with ½ cup of brewed coffee. Mix ½ cup of sugar with three egg yolks and two eggs until the consistency is smooth. Heat up a half cream, half milk mixture over the hob. Let it reach the boil and then take it off the heat, and begin adding the egg-sugar mixture to it. Once this has combined, you can add in the coffee mix and some chocolate chips of your choice. Freeze the solution overnight for a tasty summer treat.

2. Espresso tonic water

Via Culy

This is a perfect drink for a hot day. Make an espresso shot or a strong short coffee using an instant mix. Pour some chilled tonic water into a tall glass and add the espresso to the top of it so that it sits neatly (as shown above!). Serve with or without ice.

3. Coffee French toast

Via Simply Recipes

Everyone loves French toast, but why not give it a little twist? First, you must make your mixture. Combine an egg, two tablespoons of sugar, ¼ cup of milk and two tablespoons of instant coffee. Once you have done so, simply dip the bread into the mixture and fry in a preheated pan.

4. Coffee beef stew

Via JellyToastBlog

You might not think that coffee and beef go together, but you’d be oh-so-wrong. In reality, these two flavours complement one another perfectly, since they are both strong and rich. Use a standard beef stew recipe to start with, including your favourite vegetables and a large helping of garlic. Just before serving, mix in a cup or two of freshly brewed coffee. The taste will add an extra something special to this recipe.

5. Black bean soup (with added coffee)

Via Smells Like Home

To create this deliciously warming recipe, you will need to use a bell pepper, some jalapeños (Hint: make it as spicy as you like!), some finely chopped onions, and two cups of pre-washed and soaked black beans. Combine the ingredients with two cups of coffee and three cups of water, and bring the soup to the boil. Leave it to simmer for as long as possible so that the flavours really intensify.

6. Coffee and chocolate granola

This flavoursome breakfast treat is simply ideal for the winter months. Mix oats, almonds and ground coffee in a large bowl and then pop them on a lined baking tray. Put the tray in the oven for around 20-30 minutes at 180 degrees. Once you get the granola out, leave it to cool before serving with cool milk.

7. Espresso Granita

Via Dessert for Two

This utterly indulgent treat is ideal if you happen to have something of a sweet-tooth. Mix two cups of espresso with six tablespoons of sugar. Chill the mixture in the fridge for a day or so. Every few hours, you should mix the granules so that they don’t stick! Finally, serve in a tall glass with a whole load of whipped cream.

8. Coffee banana bread

Banana bread is always a family favourite, but why not shake things up just a little? You can add a cup of espresso to the mix before baking. Ensure that you distribute it evenly so that the dreamy coffee flavour is evenly dispersed throughout this treat.

9. Mocha ice pops

If you’re looking for a summer snack that is still packed with that delicious coffee flavour, you will simply adore this one. Mix water, espresso coffee, condensed milk, and cocoa powder. Once you’ve done so, you can freeze the mixture! (If you have a lolly mould, now’s the time to use it!)

10. Coffee pudding

Finally, here’s a cheeky treat that everyone should try at least once. Start by combining coffee, cream, sugar and water in a pan. Bring the solution to the boil, and then strain it to make sure that there are no annoying lumps in there. Whisk the mixture until peaks form in it and it’s light and airy. Stick it in the fridge overnight and serve with a little cream on the side. Yummy!
