4 Mocktails to See You Through Dry January

09 January 2020

Are you taking part in Dry January to kick-start a healthier outlook in 2020?

If you are, but you’d still like a little taste of your favourite cocktails, there is always the non-alcoholic style of drink called ‘mocktail’.

You’re probably asking: ‘How do you make a cocktail without the alcohol?’ But worry not, as we at B&M HQ have plucked some brilliant recipes for you to try out!

Cosmo-To-Go

A sophisticated mocktail boasting tons of flavour. And if you want to try something a bit different, swap normal lemonade for Sprite! It’ll give the Cosmo a limey flavour that’s really refreshing.

Ingredients:

  • 115ml Lemonade
  • 115ml Cranberry Juice
  • 30ml Lime Syrup
  • 1 Lime Wheel

Non-Alcoholic Sangria

It may be winter, but there’s always time for a tasty sangria, especially during Dry January!

Serve a pitcher of this to some guests, and enjoy some food to go with it. An added bonus is you’ll have no hangover the next morning.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of Boiling Water
  • 2 Black Tea Bags
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • ½ cup of Sugar
  • 2 cups of Cranberry Juice
  • 2 cups of Orange Juice
  • 1 Orange, Lemon, Lime and Apple – sliced

Pour the boiling water over the tea bags and cinnamon sticks in a large pitcher and leave to sit for 5 minutes. Once you’ve discarded the tea bags, stir in the sugar and then add all of the juice and fruit. Refrigerate for at least one hour, but for the best taste, leave it in the fridge overnight.

Virgin Pina Colada

Pina Colada is all about the rum, but this is a healthy non-alcoholic month, so try this mocktail that centres on pineapple juice and coconut cream.

Whip out your electric blender, pop all of the ingredients in and mix them all up. It couldn’t be easier to enjoy a stunning Virgin Pina Colada. Give it the finishing touch by garnishing with your pineapple slices.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of Ice
  • ¾ cup of Pineapple Juice
  • ¼ cup of Coconut Milk & Coconut Cream
  • 1 tbsp of White Sugar/Honey
  • 1 tbsp of White Sugar/Honey
  • Pineapple Slices

Lemonade Nojito

Nojito? No it’s not the latest Spanish star to play in the Premier League. Nojitos are the new Mojitos, and some! Because the whole family can enjoy the most refreshing of alcohol-free cocktails.

Ingredients:

  • 115ml Lemonade
  • 115ml Sprite
  • 30ml Mint Mojito Syrup
  • 1 Mint Sprig
