Christmas Decor: 2019's On-Trend Themes for that Festive Feeling

30 October 2019

With Christmas just around the corner, there's no better time to start thinking about how you'll decorate your home for the festive season.

Many people go with the same colour and decorations as the year previous, but why not spruce things up a bit and go for something new, exciting and on-trend?

Which colour baubles will you choose: frosted or shiny? How about the tree: will it be green, silver or snowy white? Traditional nutcrackers or contemporary ornaments? Here are a few ideas we’ve put together from B&M HQ to get your creative juices flowing.

Winter Wonderland

Conjure up a charming woodland space in your home with tactile textures, luxe lighting and a touch of fairy dust.

Kick off the illusion with a snow-tipped tree, surrounded by a mixture of rustic ornaments, like a Wooden Christmas Tree, or Wooden Cut Out Star.

Add glints of light with this Hanging Lantern, reflecting off copper and gold metallic accents to create a wonderful glow around the room.

Classic Christmas

Nostalgia, childhood memories and family traditions is what Christmas is all about.

No matter how big or small your home is, you can't go wrong with this classic theme, filled with hand-crafted treasures to create a traditional, cosy space. A combination of nutcrackers, gift sacks, garlands and hanging stars with red & gold shimmers achieve a charming setting.

As ever, the focal point of the room should be the Mountain Spruce 7ft Christmas Tree. Scatter Jute Sacks filled with gifts around the base, combined with Light Up Presents for a stunning festive layout.

Merry & Bright

Celebrate everything that's merry and bright about the festive period with sequin nutcrackers, giant tinsel, funky Christmas baubles and disco balls.

For a quirky theme, this trend packs a punch to create an unusual but festive space, full of personality. If traditional woodland hues do nothing for you, scatter bright colours and shiny decorations around your home instead!

Nutcrackers can often be seen as a traditional Christmas decoration, but this Deluxe Disco version is perfect for your colourful and unique décor this year.

And if you're looking to put your own personal stamp on your Christmas tree, try the Alphabet Glitter Bauble. Spell out your name, or find the initials for everyone at home.

What theme have you gone for this Christmas? We'd love to see how you've decorated! Share your photos with the B&M community on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
