40 Jobs Created in Hitchin with New B&M Store Opening

03 November 2018

Locals in Hitchin were delighted this morning as their brand new B&M store was finally unveiled, with 40 jobs created in the process.

The store, which can be located on Nightingale Road, officially opened its doors to the public today.

A wide range of branded products are available to purchase, including toys, food & drink, homeware, pet products, health & beauty and seasonal.

As part of the opening day process, colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity who could be given some VIP treatment. They chose North Herts Sanctuary who, alongside the Vice Chairman, Cllr Jean Green, helped unveil the new store.

The charity provides accommodation and counselling services to support and help homeless males in the local area. They address the social and health needs of service users to help them move forward and find permanent accommodation.

As a thank you for all of the hard work they do in the community, and for helping to open the new B&M store, the charity were handed £250 worth of vouchers to spend in-store.

The store manager, Chris Hadfield, said: “The team from North Herts Sanctuary really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for the local community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.

“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”

He also commented: Our new colleagues have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day, we can’t wait to show customers their brand new B&M.”
