B&M Boosts Hessle Local Economy with Brand New Store in Priory Way

29 November 2025

This morning at 8am on Saturday 29th November 2025, B&M store colleagues gathered around outside their brand-new store in Priory Way, Hessle, to celebrate its grand opening and welcome in their first customers.

The launch of this new store is a welcome boost to the local economy and has created 50 new jobs for local people, while providing the community with big bargains and their favourite big brands at a discounted price.

B&M’s store manager commented: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”

After taking possession of a former homebase, the unit now inhabited by B&M has since undergone an extensive refurbishment programme to revamp its exterior and bring customers the interior B&M layout they know and love, producing a sales space of 29,163sqft. for customers to explore.

Customers visiting B&M Priory Way, Hessle, can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a range of food, drink, and pet food. There will also be a fantastic selection of quality health & beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts, plenty more to explore.

The store also hosts its own 8,747sqft garden centre, selling hundreds of plant varieties and gardening essentials for green fingered locals, alongside exciting garden décor, garden electricals, garden landscaping materials, and so much more.

To celebrate the grand opening of B&M Priory Way, store colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity who they think deserves the spotlight for all the hard work they do for the local community. They chose the team from Hessle & Anlaby Foodbank to take centre stage and officially unveil the new store with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

Hessle & Anlaby Foodbank is a community organisation supporting individuals and families in crisis across the west Hull villages through emergency food supplies. Established during the pandemic in 2020, the Foodbank has continued to meet a growing local need and now serves more than 70 families, providing essential support where it is most needed.

A spokesperson from Hessle & Anlaby Foodbank said:

“Donations from the community enable us to offer generous food parcels that include fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, eggs, and cheese, alongside store-cupboard essentials. Clients are welcomed with respect and understanding, and many tell us when their circumstances improve moving from weekly to monthly parcels or managing independently once they gain secure employment.”

B&M’s store manager also stated:

“Hessle and Anlaby Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them continue the great work they do.”
