B&M Delighted to Welcome Shoppers to New Durham Road Retail Park Store!

B&M’s new Durham Road Retail Park store is officially open, bringing amazing quality, outstanding value, and everyday convenience together under one roof.

Located at Durham Road Retail Park, Sunderland, the new B&M store has undergone a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment programme before officially opening its doors on Wednesday 4^th February 2026. Shoppers can now enjoy a 5,026 sqft. garden centre and 21,131 sqft. of sales floor space, filled with brilliant bargains and exciting deals across all of our departments.

The launch of the new Durham Road Retail Park store has created 45 new jobs for local people, providing a welcome boost to the local economy. To celebrate the store opening, B&M colleagues were asked to nominate a charity they felt deserved some VIP treatment for the work they do within the local community. They selected the team from Pawz for Thought to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.

Based in Sunderland but operating throughout the North East of England, Pawz for Thought is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need. Their valuable work relies entirely on the generosity of donations from the public as they work to combat high levels of animal welfare issues in the region.

The B&M store manager commented: “Pawz for Thought really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
