B&M Erdington Relocates to New Unit on High Street
19 June 2025
This morning at 8am on Thursday 19th June 2025, B&M store colleagues saw the long-anticipated opening of their new store location at 80 High Street, Erdington, Birmingham.
Following feedback from shoppers who requested a bigger and better store filled with more bargains and even more products, the team decided to give locals a B&M store worthy of the community by moving over to a former Co-Op just down the road from the old site.
B&M store manager said: “We wanted a bigger and better store for our customers, giving them even more big, branded products.”
The new store is much bigger, with over 23,884sqft of sales space, offering an even bigger selection of great bargains from groceries, toiletries, health & beauty, toys, homeware, electricals, DIY, and so much more to explore.
After shutting its tills for the final time, the old B&M Erdington store officially closed on Saturday 14th June 2025 to make way for the big relocation and is now no longer in use. But customers didn’t have to wait long before B&M re-opened its doors at its brand-new unit this morning.
To officially unveil the store, B&M colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity who they think deserves some VIP treatment for all the hard work they do in the local community. They chose the team from Erdington Foodbank to take centre stage and mark the occasion with a ceremonial ribbon cut before customers were welcomed through the doors.
Erdington Foodbank supports people in need by providing emergency food parcels and practical support to individuals and families facing crisis. Part of the nationwide Trussell Trust network, they work across the UK to combat poverty and hunger, including right here in Erdington’s local community.
In 2023/24, foodbanks in the Trussell Trust’s network provided over 3.1 million emergency food parcels, with more than 1.1 million going to children. Locally, Erdington foodbank plays a vital role in ensuring that no one in the community has to face hunger alone. Their work is powered by the kindness of volunteers and donations from the public.
More than just food, Erdington Foodbank also helps people get back on their feet through support programmes such as More Than Food, offering advice and practical help for those experiencing hardship. They are a lifeline and a powerful example of what a caring community can achieve when it comes together.
B&M’s store manager commented: “Erdington Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
