B&M Launches Brand New Store in Portishead, Somerset

This morning at 8am on Friday 30^th May 2025, B&M colleagues gathered outside their brand-new store to welcome in their first customers.

B&M’s store manager commented:

“We’re excited to finally open the doors and welcome in our first customers.”

Located in Wyndham Way Retail Park, Portishead, Somerset, the discount retailer now inhabits a former Homebase store, which provides a ground floor sales space of 20,570sqft. along with a mezzanine sales floor of 8,277sqft. after undergoing extensive internal and external refurbishment.

B&M Portishead is also proud to have an integrated 10,534sqft. garden centre, selling hundreds of plant varieties and gardening essentials for green fingered locals.

The launch of this brand-new bargain store provides a significant boost to the local economy and has created 50 new jobs for the surrounding community.

B&M’s store manager also said:

“We’re feeling extremely positive about providing new jobs for local people, and we hope customers will be delighted with their new store.”

Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price, including a range of food, drink, and pet products. There is also a fantastic selection of quality health & beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts, and plenty more to explore.

For the grand opening of the store, colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity who they think deserves the spotlight for all the hard work they do in the local community. They chose the team from Clevedon District Foodbank to take centre stage and mark the occasion with a ceremonial ribbon cut.

Clevedon District Foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in the local area. They cover Clevedon, Nailsea Portishead, and the surrounding towns and villages. Each food parcel provides 3 days emergency food to people in crisis. They also provide lunch bags to children during the school holidays. Each lunch bag offers one weeks’ worth of non-perishable food items.

B&M’s store manager was thrilled to be able to include this incredible charity in the unveiling of the new B&M store:
