B&M Marks Arrival With 50 New Jobs in Cwmbran

29 November 2014

B&M, one of the UK's fastest growing variety retailers, has created 50 jobs in Cwmbran after opening a new Home Store & Garden Centre in the town.

A huge effort was made by staff to get the new store - a former Homebase on Tudor Road – ready in time for the grand opening and staff welcomed hundreds of shoppers through its doors on Saturday morning.

Customers can expect a wide variety of branded and own label products, including groceries and toiletries as well as an extensive non-food section including toys, soft furnishings, home and electrical ranges. The store will also incorporate a Garden Centre for all your gardening needs and fresh Christmas trees for some added festive cheer this year!

The ribbon cutting was undertaken by representatives from local charity Co Star. Co Star is an independent charity based in the Greenmeadow area of Cwmbran and was founded in 2000 by a small group of residents with a passion to help and develop their community. They were nominated by the store colleagues themselves and received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for opening the store.

Store Manager Sally Pumford said: “B&M is committed to recruiting from the local area and I’m proud we’ve found a great team from in and around Cwmbran for our first store in the town. We’re really proud to have created 50 jobs and to be playing our part in the local community.”
