B&M Proud to Open New Bargain Store in Pwllheli

23 November 2016

B&M opened its latest store in Gwynedd on Wednesday, with help from a few special friends.

The new Pwllheli Bargains store has created 20 jobs for local people, which comes as a welcome boost for the economy.

Based at the former Co-op on Lower Cardiff Road, the store has undergone a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment.

As part of B&M’s Local Hero initiative, to honour local individuals or organisations which make an important contribution to their community, colleagues invited along representatives from Pwllheli RNLI and Wales Air Ambulance to open the store.

The RNLI team save lives by providing a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service, seasonal lifeguards, water safety education, initiatives and flood rescue response.

They operate 400 fast, modern craft from more than 230 lifeboat stations - each year their lifeboat crews save more than 7,000 people.

Wales Air Ambulance provides lifesaving rapid response emergency, 365 days, to everyone in Wales.

Wales has grown to be one of the busiest air ambulance operations in the UK and with four aircraft they are the largest air ambulance operation in the UK - the team responds to roughly 2000 missions each year.

In addition to formally cutting the ribbon, the representatives also shared £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part.

Adam Pratt, store manager at B&M Pwllheli said: “The team from Pwllheli RNLI and Wales Air Ambulance really stood out for us as they both go the extra mile for the community - we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.

“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”

He also commented: “The new team have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day and we’ve been eagerly anticipating opening the doors today and showing customers their new B&M Pwllheli.”

On Saturday 26 November there will also be a facepainter in store to transform customers into their favourite super heroes, animals or characters.
