B&M Relocates to Bigger & Better Store in Picton Court Retail Park, Waterton, Bridgend

After closing its doors for the final time on Saturday 7th June 2025, B&M Bridgend have now relocated to a more impressive store located in Picton Court Retail Park, Waterton, Bridgend, which is just a stones’ throw away from the old site.

Following feedback from regular shoppers that they wanted a bigger shop and even more products; the store team new it was time to expand and give the customers a wider variety of products to shop.

Customers didn’t have to wait long to get back into store however, as the grand reopening at the new location took place this morning at 8am on Saturday 14th June 2025.

The new store is much bigger, with a sales space of over 29.362sqft. along with a mezzanine sales floor of 10,626sqft. that used to be home to a former Homebase. This relocation means that the community of Bridgend will have access to an even bigger selection of great bargains from groceries, toiletries, quality health & beauty products and so much more.

Following its relocation to a bigger unit, B&M now also boasts its own 8.200sqft. garden centre, selling hundreds of plant varieties and garden essentials for green fingered locals and landscaping enthusiasts.

The store manager of B&M stated:

“We wanted a bigger and better store for our customers, giving them even more big, branded products.”

To celebrate the unveiling of the brand-new store location, store colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves the spotlight for all the hard work they do in the local community. They chose the team from Bridgend Foodbank to host the ceremonial ribbon cutting as the store manager and store colleagues welcomed customers back through the doors.

Bridgend Foodbank supports local people by providing emergency food parcels and essential support to individuals and families in crisis. As part of the Trussell Trust’s nationwide network, they are working to fight poverty and hunger across the UK including right here in our own community.

In the past year, Bridgend Foodbank provided 7,260 three-day emergency food supplies to people in need, including 1,794 children. Their impact locally is vital in ensuring that no one must face hunger alone. Their work is made possible by generous donations and the dedication of local volunteers.

More than just food, Bridgend Foodbank helps people take steps toward a more stable future through support services like More Than Food, which provides advice and practical help to those experiencing hardship. They are a true lifeline and a shining example of the power of a caring community working together.

B&M’s store manager was thrilled to involve such a worthwhile cause in their grand opening, commenting:
