B&M Scunthorpe Store Reopens After Relocation & Extensive Refurbishment

24 February 2024

B&M is ecstatic to announce the completion of extensive refurbishment of their relocated Scunthorpe - Gunness store. After opening its doors on Saturday the 24th of February at 8am B&M could not be happier with the outcome. The new store is located in a much bigger and better site, which allows the people of Scunthorpe to get the products they love at prices that can't be beat.

The new store has moved into a former Debenhams just a stone's throw away from the former location. The newly refurbished store offers over 33,000sqft of big brands at even better prices. Customers can expect to find great bargains including groceries, toiletries, health & beauty products, toys, homeware and DIY.

The relocated store also boasts its own Garden Centre, spanning over 5,000sqft, selling hundreds of plant varieties and big brand gardening products.

Store colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community. They chose the team from The Forge Project to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.

The Forge Project Day Centre opens five mornings per week offering food and vital support services to North Lincolnshire’s homeless and roofless. The day centre offers a befriending service and whoever attends the project is guaranteed a warm welcome by people who care. As well as food, warmth and a friendly atmosphere, the day centre staff provide support, signposting and referral to appropriate agencies as and where required. Representatives from other agencies such as the local housing advice team, drugs and alcohol agencies and mental health agencies attend the day centre to hold clinics to enable the clients to be given support in a safe environment.

The store manager at B&M Scunthorpe, said: “We wanted a bigger and better store for our customers, giving them even more big, branded products.

“We hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store, we’re really excited to get the doors open very soon.”

The store manager also commented: “The Forge Project really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do."
