B&M Thrilled to Announce Brand New Store in Allestree

27 January 2024

In a welcome boost to the local economy, B&M are thrilled to announce the launch of its brand-new store in Park Farm Shopping Centre, Allestree. The launch of the store will create 15-20 jobs for local people.

The discount retailer has taken possession of a previous Wilko store which provides a space of 9,930sqft. after undergoing an extensive internal and external refurbishment programme before officially opening its doors at 8am on Saturday 27th January.

Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a range of food, drink and pet food. There is also a fantastic selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts and plenty more to explore.

The colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community. They chose the team from Sue Ryder Allestree to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.

Sue Ryder is a charity that is there when it matters, making sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can access the support they need through its palliative care services and bereavement support. So, no one has to face dying or grief alone. They have around 400 charity shops around the UK selling donated items such as clothing, furniture, books, music and much more – which all goes towards the charity’s expert end-of-life care and bereavement support services.

Sarah Pye, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Sue Ryder said: “We’re truly humbled to have been asked to open this new B&M store and would like to take this opportunity to say a hug thank you for their donation.

“Every donation really means a lot to Sue Ryder and our patients, their families and friends, as well as those grieving. We are here to support. This money will help us make a positive difference during even the darkest of times and means we can help those approaching the end of their life or living with grief access the support they need – and live the best life they possibly can.”

The store manager from B&M commented: “Sue Ryderreally stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”

The store manager also said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”
