B&M Thrilled to Announce the Grand Opening of New Newbury Store

B&M is thrilled to announce the opening of its brand-new store in Newbury, Bekrshire.

B&M have taken possession of previous Pets at Home, Topps Tiles and Lidl stores. After a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment programme the new store now offers a wider array of high-quality, affordable products for the people of Newbury. The launch of the new store will also create jobs for 75 local people.

The new store was unveiled on Saturday the 7th of October and now boasts a bigger selection of great bargains from our ranges including grocery, toiletries, health & beauty, toys, homeware and DIY and much more!

The colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community.

They chose the team from St Barnabas Hospice to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store. Newbury Soup Kitchen is a voluntary organisation which provides help and support to the homeless, rough sleepers, vulnerable individuals or anybody who just needs a bit of support.

They provide hot food for the evening, a friendly face and welcome the opportunity for a chat. They also offer a weekly outreach service that provides their clients with Optometry services free of charge, and also access to a community nurse. Additionally, during their Thursday sessions they offer haircuts and access to basic provisions and amenities such as showers, laundry coupons, Food Bank tokens and toiletries.

The store manager from B&M said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”

The store manager also commented: “Newbury Soup Kitchen really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
