22 November 2025

B&M was delighted to open its brand-new Cockermouth store on Saturday 22nd November!

Following a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment of a store site in The Lowther Went Shopping Centre, we’re thrilled to open the doors to your new B&M Cockermouth Store. Shoppers can now enjoy 10,420 sqft. of sales floor space, filled with brilliant bargains and exciting deals across a range of departments.

The launch of the new Cockermouth store has created 35 new jobs providing a welcome boost to the local economy. The B&M store manager commented: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”

Customers can expect to find a great variety of products at their new B&M Cockermouth store, all at the best possible prices. We stock plenty of household names within our Food and Drink ranges, alongside a fantastic selection of everyday essentials, such as Toiletries, Haircare, and Health and Wellbeing products. We also stock exciting Home Décor, DIY, and Paint ranges to give your home an instant lift - all this and more available to shop at your new B&M Cockermouth store!

To mark the occasion, B&M store colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they thought deserved recognition for the work they do in the local community. They chose the team from North Lakes Foodbank to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.

North Lakes Foodbank is a non-profit organisation that supports individuals and families by providing emergency food supplies when it is needed most. The charity works alongside more than 125 care professionals including welfare advisors, medical teams, social workers, and other community organisations to support those facing hardship.

They collect donations from supermarkets, churches, schools, and local community groups, food is then distributed at centres located in both Allerdale and Copeland. Everyone is welcomed to the centres with a hot drink, a friendly chat, and a signpost for further help and long-term strategies.

The B&M store manager commented: “North Lakes Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
