Basildon Welcomes New B&M Store on Town Square

B&M Stores continued its growth today as a new store was officially opened in Basildon.

The addition to B&M's portfolio in the region comes as a huge boost to the local economy, creating more than 60 jobs for people from the area.

Visitors to the store, located on Town Square, will be able to browse a wide range of branded and own label goods, including toys, groceries, health & beauty and pet ranges.

As part of the opening celebrations, B&M employees invited local charity, St. Luke's Hospice, to be their VIP for the day. Local Mayor, Cllr David Harrison, was also in attendance.

The team provide specialist care and support for people living in the local area with any life threatening, life limiting disease by providing a wide range of services tailored to their needs. This is also extended to carers, families and friends of patients to ensure they also receive any support they may need.

The foundation were handed £250 worth of vouchers to spend in-store as a thank you for their hard work in the community.

The store manager, Steve Bishop, said: “The team from St Luke’s Hospice really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.

“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”

He also commented: The new team have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day and we can’t wait to get the doors open on Thursday and show customers their new B&M Basildon.”
