20 January 2021

More than 40 people from the local area have been hired as B&M officially opened a new store in Batley today.

The latest B&M store, located in Blakeridge Mill Shopping Centre, will allow locals to experience the variety retailer’s great selection of branded and own label products.

With everything from toys and homewares to groceries and pet, there’s plenty of items for visitors to the B&M store to shop.

And store staff were delighted to welcome Batley Foodbank as their VIP, who were invited to cut the ribbon on opening day.

Batley Foodbank is a local charity that provides seven-day nutritionally balanced food parcels and support for individuals and families in Batley. Since opening in 2013, the charity has helped thousands of people and continue to do so.

In addition to opening the new store, the charity received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part and for all their hard work in the community.

The store manager said: "It was really exciting to welcome customers through the doors this morning, the feedback so far has been fantastic.

"A big thank you to the team at Batley Foodbank who helped us open the store today, we hope that our donation can help them to continue to do the great work they do in supporting the local people."
