Bigger & Better B&M Redcar Store Officially Opens

09 August 2019

The long-awaited grand re-opening of B&M's Redcar store on Regent Walk has arrived.

The original store closed on August 1st and an expansion to create a bigger and better store has now been completed.

The store employed 18 colleagues originally, but due to a much bigger space, that has seen an additional 24 locals hired.

As part of the opening day process, colleagues nominated Mind Redcar, to be given some VIP treatment. They helped unveil the new store alongside the Lord Mayor, Cllr Billy Wells.

The charity provide and promote a quality well-being, prevention and recovery service to help people who suffer with mental illness.

In addition to helping to open the new store, they were given £250 worth of vouchers to spend.

The store manager, Andy Berwick, said: “The team from Mind really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local people in the community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.

“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”

He also commented: Our new colleagues have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day, we can’t wait to get the doors open on Friday and show customers their brand new B&M.”
