Northern Devon Foodbank Takes Centre Stage at B&M Store Unveil

07 December 2020

More than 60 people from the local area have been hired as B&M officially opened a new store in Bideford today.

The latest B&M store, located in Devon, will allow locals to experience the variety retailer’s great selection of branded and own label products.

With everything from toys and homewares to groceries and pet, there’s plenty of items for visitors to the B&M store to shop.

And store staff were delighted to welcome Northern Devon Foodbank as their VIP, who were invited to cut the ribbon on opening day.

They are part of a nationwide network of locally funded foodbanks who work together to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. The charity provides three-day nutritionally balanced emergency food and support for individuals and families in Districts of Torridge and North Devon.

In addition to opening the new store, the charity received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part and for all their hard work in the community.

The store manager said: "It was really exciting to welcome customers through the doors this morning, the feedback so far has been fantastic.

"A big thank you to the team at Devon Foodbank who helped us open the store today, we hope that our donation can help them to continue to do the great work they do in supporting the local people."
