Shoppers in Swinton Flock to Bigger & Better B&M

02 April 2016

Swinton shoppers were celebrating after B&M opened a brand new Home Store & Garden Centre in the town on Saturday.

The new store has replaced the town’s previous B&M Bargains Store, offering new customers a bigger & better shopping experience.

More than 60 jobs have been created at the new Home Store continuing B&M’s focus on providing jobs for local workers.

As well as the products normally found in a B&M Bargains Store, locals will also be able to browse a wider range of toys, furniture, DIY and seasonal ranges.

The new store is located on Wilfred Street, at the location of the former B&Q, not far from the previous B&M store in the town.

As part of B&M’s Local Hero initiative, representatives from St Ann’s Hospice were invited along to help open the store.

A B&M Local Hero is chosen by store colleagues and can be an organisation or individual that have made an important contribution to their community.

The hospice cares for and helps around 3,000 patients (over the age of 16) and their families and carers every year who are affected by cancer and non-cancer life limiting illnesses.

They provide care across 3 sites as well as in people’s own homes, with care given free of charge and funded by the £16,000 which the hospice needs to raise every day.

As well as the ribbon cutting, locals were treated to B&M’s brand new store opening game – featuring the chance to win a fantastic prize!

There was fun to be had by everyone throughout opening day, with a face painter helping to keep everybody happy as the day went on.
