Welcome Boost For Local Economy As B&M Brings Over 60 New Jobs To Town

Retailer B&M, one of the UK's fastest growing variety retailers, is investing in people from the local community with its new store in Cheadle Heath, Stockport. Opening on Saturday 25th October, the new store will provide a welcome boost to the local economy.

The new B&M Homestore and Garden Centre will open at the former Homebase on Stockport Road creating 68 new jobs for local people.

Area Manager, Larry Downey, said: “B&M is committed to recruiting from the local area and I’m pleased we’ve found a great team from in and around Stockport for our second store in the town.”

Store Manager, Colin Pollard, added: “We’ve all worked very hard over the past few weeks to make sure the store will be ready for the opening. We’re extremely pleased to be creating more jobs for local people and continuing to play our part in the community.”

This store will also be the company’s 400th and celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott will be at the store on Saturday 25th October to officially mark the opening and welcome the first customers. The grand opening will also have Ainsley Harriott giveaways including free signed copies of his Meals in Minutes cookery book, face painting as well as appearances from the Haribo bear and characters from Disney’s Frozen.
