Gingerbread Popcorn

It's that time of year when we can't switch over without stumbling across our favourite Christmas films on TV. What better accompaniment to A Muppets Christmas Carol and Elf than this delicious gingerbread popcorn recipe? With the Downtown Popcorn Maker from B&M, this festive snack is just a pop away!

Ingredients

  • 60g popping kernels
  • 30g butter (unsalted)
  • 2 tbsp soft dark brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup

Method

  1. Add popcorn kernels to the measuring cup and drop them into the popcorn maker. Wait until all popcorn kernels have popped (1-3 minutes) and then pour into a bowl.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter on a low heat and add the sugar, golden syrup and ground ginger. Continue to heat until all of the butter has melted, stirring regularly.
  3. Once the butter has melted pour the sauce over the popcorn and mix/toss until there is a fine coating all over.
  4. Serve with your favourite Christmas film!
