Ingredients

  • 175g softened butter
  • 175g golden caster sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 200g self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 4 tbsp Nutella
  • 50g hazelnuts

Method

  1. Pre-heat your oven to 180°C
  2. Butter and line the base of a 20cm round cake tin
  3. Put the eggs, sugar, butter, baking powder, milk and cinnamon into your mixing bowl and beat for 2-3 minutes, until light and fluffy
  4. Next, pour three quarters of your mixture into the cake tin and spread it so it’s completely level.
  5. Spoon the Nutella on the top, into four blobs
  6. Top with the remaining mixture and swirl a couple of times to create patterns with a skewer
  7. Smooth to cover the Nutella
  8. Sprinkle the nuts over the cake
  9. Bake for 45mins - 1 hour until it’s risen and is nicely browned. Cool for ten minutes and serve.
