Nutella Cake

We are nutty about Nutella - so much so that we've made ourselves this tasty Nutella Cake!

It'd be the perfect big bake if you're a British Bake Off fan, and it's actually really simple to make.

  • 1 Betty Crocker Tempting Chocolate Cake Mix
  • 3 medium eggs
  • 125ml vegetable oil
  • 230ml water
  • 2 tubs Betty Crocker Vanilla Buttercream
  • 300g Nutella
  • 1 bar of hazelnut chocolate, broken into chunks


1. Empty cake mix into a large mixing bowl. Make a well and add in the eggs, oil and water. Whisk until a smooth batter is formed
2. Pour mixture into a lined 10” cake tin. Bake at 180ºC for 20 minutes
3. Let the cake cool in the tin for 15mins before transferring to a wire rack too cool completely
4. Empty the 2 tubs of buttercream into a medium mixing bowl. Add in the Nutella until fully incorporated
5. Cut the cooled cake in half. Pipe or spread Nutella buttercream mixture 1cm thick across the 1st layer
6. Add top layer of the cake. Pipe or spread the rest of the Nutella cream over the cake
7. Sprinkle over the hazelnut chocolate chunks for decoration
