A Blank Canvas

You should never feel as though you’re stuck with wall space that you hate to look at. Many people choose to do nothing about their ugly wallpaper simply because they don’t know how to change it, but it’s actually extremely straightforward. We recommend that you remove any existing wall coverings before you start adding anything else - whether it’s just paint or a whole different pattern of paper. Wallpaper adheres better to bare walls; lumps and bubbles can be more easily avoided, and you can cancel out the risk of old, bold patterns remaining visible through more delicate new designs.

All you need to do is get hold of B&M’s excellent Earlex Wallpaper Stripper. It’s safe to use - complete with a carry handle and cool touch hose - and allows you to steam old paper off, dissolving the worst of any old wallpaper paste and rendering your walls ready for their makeover.

Good Adhesive

If you want your wallpaper to last, it’s a good idea to opt for high quality, resilient paste or adhesive. We highly recommend using Solvite’s Ready to Roll Wallpaper Adhesive. At just £8.99 it’s ready mixed and one box can be used for up to five rolls.
