B&M Brings Bargains to the Community of Winsford with Brand New Store
11 June 2025
This morning at 8am on Wednesday 11th June, B&M store colleagues gathered around outside their brand-new discount store located in Winsford, Cheshire West.
After comprehensive development of a new build unit in Queens Parade, the new B&M Winsford store now claims 22,587sqft. of sales space, alongside an exciting 8,773sqft garden centre selling hundreds of plant varieties and gardening equipment for green-fingered locals.
The launch of this new store will serve as an esteemed boost to the local economy, providing locals with 29 new jobs and providing the community with unbeatable bargains, everyday essentials, and a fantastic range of food, homeware, electricals, toys, DIY essentials, gifts, and so much more to explore.
Cllr Nathan Pardoe, Cheshire West and Chester Council Cabinet Member for Inclusive Economy, Regeneration and Digital Transformation, said:
“I am delighted that Winsford’s new B&M superstore is opening. At roughly half the size of a football pitch and including a garden centre, this new B&M store adds to the fantastic shopping offer in the town centre. Better still, this has created 29 jobs alongside more than 70 jobs created at other retailers and in the construction phase, helping us to drive inclusive economic growth for local people.”
“B&M’s opening is a key milestone in the first phase of the Council’s ambitious regeneration of the town centre, with more in this and future phases still to come. Businesses have confidence in the town, a new 168-space car park is now open on Dene Drive with improved cycling and walking routes, and the town centre has a heart again with the new public square, incorporating our town war memorials and an event space outside of Winsford Library.
“Cheshire West and Chester Council is committed to Winsford, it’s why it has invested £22.5m in the first phase of the regeneration - the biggest investment in the town centre since the 1960s that has transformed it into something Winsford is proud of again.”
The store manager of B&M also commented: “We’re feeling extremely proud to be able to contribute to the local economy and create more jobs for people in the area. We hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”
To mark the occasion, store colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity who they think deserves the spotlight for all the hard work they do in the community. They chose the team from The Salvation Army to take centre stage and officially unveil the new store with a ceremonial ribbon cut.
B&M’s store manager was thrilled to be able to welcome such a worthwhile cause to this momentous occasion, commenting:
“The Salvation Army really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
The Salvation Army provide practical help for people in need, defend those who are vulnerable and abused, and fight against injustice. The services they provide are diverse, reflecting the needs of the communities they serve.
